The article that Amanda edited was accepted for revision at the American Sociological Review. Amanda’s writing and editorial skills are outstanding. She’s easily able to transform complex scholarly prose into a clear, attention-grabbing narrative. What is more, she loves to write and to craft language precisely. Amanda also brings an acute visual sense to publications, both digital and print. Amanda is also an excellent program manager. She sets project milestones and keeps to every goal. She works very cooperatively with others, making everyone look good in the process. She’s a highly motivated strategic thinker, taking great initiative and consistently following through.

I had the good fortune of collaborating with Amanda for several years at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. Together with the executive director, we established and maintained the communications strategy of the Center, including both its print and web products. I truly appreciate her strategic thinking skills, attention to detail, and commitment to successful project execution. She provided keen editorial and team leadership skills and always produced the highest quality work in an efficient manner. Amanda is a great team leader as well, and she has the ability to wrangle multiple personalities and talents to achieve the best results. I read this report quickly on the plane last week, and read it again last night. Honestly, this is one of the most thorough and accurate reports of a conference that I have read. Speaking as someone who is proud both of my writing and ability to report well on what was said, I was really impressed with your ability to capture the debates and details.

Working with Amanda has been a really positive and rewarding experience. Amanda has edited my ethnographic book on tourism, development, and labor in Mexico to make it appealing to a crossover audience of scholars in the social sciences and urban planning practitioners. I liked the way she has been able to craft the book’s theoretical insights for the general public without losing sight of the book’s more academic contributions. I loved how she worked independently on each chapter and wrote a detailed memo with the changes she had made. Amanda shared valuable insights from her own discipline to add to the statistics I was using; she fact-checked online sources and datasets; she was really respectful with the paragraphs that needed rewriting and added her rewriting on the side so it was easy when I was incorporating changes to make an informed decision of all the changes. Thanks to Amanda, my book reads better and I have gained expert knowledge on English writing conventions that I can come back to any time I need to. I will work with her again, for sure! ¡Gracias Amanda!
